Moremi Game Reserve-as part of the Okavango delta is one of Africa’s well-known game reserve. A breathtaking with incredible sightings around every corner from the southern part (Maqwe) to the northern part (khwai). With its toss up for first prize sharing river border with Magotho this the perfect stop from moremi & Savuti as this reserve is situated in between two park Moremi & Savuti section of Chobe national park. Wild animal roam freely between these areas. Sightings are plentiful throughout the year because high water levels attract game and the predators.
Mokoro overnight is a wonderful way to fully appreciate the peace and beauty of the Delta. Departing from Maun, you will head out to the mokoro station by vehicle, where you will meet your poler. After a short introduction and briefing, your adventure will begin, making your way through the waterways, stopping off for a picnic lunch enroute to your overnight camping spot. On reaching, the island there is an opportunity to do a short bushwalk.
Early morning we start our day with a walk along the unspoiled Okavango river channel explore its breezes we the then venture on mokoro to discover deep and more in the Okavango Delta, a home to hippos, red lechwe, Impalas, Elephant and many birds species, Energies our self with delicious breakfast and lunch on the picnic site. Later on the evening we enjoy sunset down by the river before dinner is served around the roaring campfire looking at magnificent staring sky and traditional song from guide and his/her team.
A morning beauty bird calls/ melodies and the smell of coffee brewing on fire waking us up. a bushwalk before tucking into a cooked breakfast. After this, it will be time to get back on board on mokoro and make your way towards the station. Your transfer vehicle will be waiting here to drive to take you deep in the Okavango delta, Moremi Game Reserve- is one of Africa’s well-known game reserves with incredible sightings, landscapes and diversity of wildlife that includes herds of elephants, lions, buffaloes and giraffes, While transiting through Kazinkini private concession in this area we will start to witness the rich diverse of fauna and flora of this area is famous and enjoying the magnificent scenery and wildlife and have photographic opportunities of a lifetime, Upon arrival at Moremi Game Reserve entrance gate we will have our lunch will Wildlife Officer validate our registration in order for our tour to proceed inside Moremi Game Reserve. Upon arrival to the camp, you will be treated to a hot camp shower before proceeding to dinner around a campfire. You will then retreat to your 3.2 x 3.2m tent/Meru tent equipped with a stretcher bed, a veranda and an attached bathroom with safari toilet, shower and stand basin, siesta and evening game drive in Xini lagoon.
Rise and shine and say hello to a fresh morning over coffee/tea and rusks for a 0630hrs morning game drive to Boduma-tau channel, and have brunch at camp. On the magnificent landscape and floodplains, boosts an amazing variety of birds and animals: Secretary bird, Kori Bustard, Zebras, herds of buffalos.
A coffee stop after our search for lions, leopard and wild dogs we then head back to camp for lunch and siesta.
As the heat of day past we embark on evening game drive within xini lagoon and makolwane tree line, after after enjoy our sunset go for back for hot shower and dinner.
After the unforgettable wilderness experience of moremi game reserve and an exciting game drives, our journey will lead to Khwai (Magotho Concession) is located on the eastern side of the Okavango sharing the Khwai river boundary with Moremi Game Reserve and section of Savuti (chobe national park). Wild animal roam freely between these areas. Sightings are plentiful throughout the year; it is a true wilderness with high concentrations of game and with its great Leopards, Lion and the most endangered African wild dogs’ sightings as well as big numbers of other animals, birds and beautiful landscape. It is definitely worth stopping here for a couple of nights.
Having our packed lunch and siesta in picnic site before exit moremi north gate (khwai) upon arrival in Magotho we begin our sunset game drive along khwai river , later had back to our breath-taking camping accommodation with a cool breeze from khwai river.
Enchanting birds, frogs melodies and lion roars waking us up to start our day with early morning game drive as the Khwai river is permanently flowing acts like a magnet for wildlife Magotho a really beautiful place, and the highlight of the peaceful elephants wandering through the campsite. A bush picnic along Khwai River for lunch and wait for plentiful sightings as animal comes for a drink. With its beautiful landscape of dead camel thorn trees its ideal for sunset drinks or short walk before heading back to the campsite.
A rise & shine morning wake up to eat our scrumptious breakfast. Once we have had breakfast we will embark on our vehicle for a leisurely game drive around Magotho as might have little farewell surprises as we drive back to Maun so keep those cameras ready to capture the last memories of Magotho (Okavango delta). We will enjoy the leisurely drive as we continue our learning about its beauties, mostly unique and transit through Mababe village to Maun.
