Dear Klaas Safaris community,
I did it!
I went on a week trip with my two boys (11&12) and Olefile, through the Okavango Delta.
What an incredible experience!
We where driving to Botswana coming from RSA, Namibia, and we experienced many beautiful sceneries. Having had Olefile on our side was a bless. I think we wouldn’t have seen all (of course including the big fives) animals, if Olefile wouldn’t have been part of it.
I was thinking of doing it by my own, but the roads are unpredictable, and technically not always easy to handle. It was the best decision taking a guide with me. As part of that you/we … all those coming from abroad will have a lot to learn on such a trip. So having a local guide is the best choice!
The most important thing, those one… the guides talk to each other and when they say “hey man, there is a lion close to that three” they know exactly which three the other is talking about!
And as part of that… while sitting on your chair at evening/night, surrounded by wildlife… no fences… just the dark, the fire, your people… and a unknown mass on animals, wild animals, having one who have at least a minimum of knowledge, knowing that the leopard next to your tent is here because he feels safe, that gives a certain calm. 😊
Go with Olefile, an incredible humble and easy dude! All the best my friend!
Our warmest recommendation.
